Nice to meet you!

My name is Terry L. Brown. I have taught Bible classes off and on for several years. I have also had the privilege of teaching adult Sunday school classes and preaching occasionally. I graduated from Yellowstone Valley Bible Institute in June 2003. My passion is to speak the truth in love to a world that is increasingly hostile to the truth.

The Begining of "Whispers of the Spirit"

The "seed" for "Whispers of the Spirit" was planted several years ago when I was teaching a weekly Bible class to a small group of people. The classes were non-denominational and held at a variety of locations from private homes to a conference room at an electrical coop business. I took these lessons and expanded on some of them in written articles. For a few years I mailed out these articles on a monthly basis. When the internet was "born" I was encouraged by some of those who had read my writings to make them available online. I thought it was a wonderful idea, but my computer illiteracy greatly slowed the advent of an online presence for Whispers of the Spirit. Nevertheless, whispersofthespirit.com eventually made its appearance on the internet a few years ago. This site you are now reading is an upgrade from the original, an upgrade I trust is more user friendly.

Statement of Faith

We Believe:

  • In the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each holy, righteous, and equally God (1 Timothy 3:16).
  • That salvation comes only through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ resulting in our forgiveness and sanctification and our redemption from sin (Acts 4:12).
  • That salvation is by grace alone, starting within our spirits, flowing outward to our souls, and resulting in a glorified body like unto the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).
  • In the inerrancy of the Holy Bible in both the Old Testament and New Testament as revealed in the original autographs (2 Timothy 3:16).
  • In the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death, the body being created to serve as a temple of the Holy Spirit (Psalm 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:5; 1 Corinthians 3:16).
  • That Jesus Christ rules and reigns in Heaven at the right hand of God the Father and that He will return to rule and reign upon the earth with His saints (Ephesians 1:18-23; Revelation 20:4).
  • That God the Father spoke Creation into existence as opposed to evolution (Hebrews 11:3).
